great capture! while i'm curious what this would look like if reshot with a macro lens, i think it stands on its own as an excellent image. great use of dof... i'm sure you'll enjoy your new toy...
as asim said, this one stands on its own as a good composition - and welcome to the wonderful world of Nikon ownership - let the expense begin :-)
